The frontline soldiers of India’s ecomonic expansion, are now planning to prepare a manual on “How to Stay in Indian Jails” so that they can get used to that idea.

Here is a message in the YahooGroup SaveIndianFamily.

If members could even give brief idea of what exactly happens in the jail, I think it will help a lot of victims who are in the early stages of a false 498a case. Since most of us in this group are techies/professionals/etc who have never experienced or even thought of jail, the uncertainty around what exactly happens is very scary.

Answers to few questions that would really help are:
- what kind of prison cell is the person put into? what are the general physical conditions
- is there any beating/torture/etc
- is there any other kind of harassment
- are there other criminals in the same cell put with you? What kind of criminals are these and what is their behavior?
- if you request the constable/police officer that you want to make a phone call to family/friend, do they allow it?

These are just some questions that come to my mind. Feel free to add more.

Once answers are in, I can collect all answers and prepare a document that we can add to the group’s file for future reference.
