The head of State Commision for Women in the state of Himachal Pradesh has anounced that officials involved in women harassment cases will be dealt with strictly. This was revealed by Ms. Ambika Sood, in Kullu, during a press conference.

Ms. Sood also mentioned that misuse of 498a will not be allowed, and the women abusing this act will also not be spared. She agreed that even though this act is made for women protection, a majority of cases coming to the commission were filed by women only to settle scores with their husband & in-laws, in-turn getting the innocents punished.
