Bangalore : Karnataka Mahila Rakshana Vedike (KMRV), which originally began with a mission to provide legal protection to domestically tortured women, has now been taking up the cause of the males too as it sees a rising reverse trend in crime in the state.

KMRV President Premkumari told UNI here today the organisation has received about 300 cases in general related to women being tortured by their husbands and family members mainly due to dowry.

Next generation trends had shown a reverse case where females were causing mental and physical harassments for males, she said.

Incidents like wife torturing husband were incresing. A bank employee was happily married for several years. His wife, also a bank employee, imposed certain conditions before him without any ground and also gave physical threat of dire consequences. Finally the husband had to walk away from the marriage, she said.

Another girl, wife of a shop owner in the city, repeatedly insulted her husband for not providing the luxurious facilities to her, she added.

Such incidents are occurring in the present context for many of yougsters are leading to separation, she said.

''Of the total 300 cases, about 50 cases are related to reverse trend of girls indulging in torturing their husbands for numerous reasons, including demand for luxurios life, undermining potentiality of their partners and illicit relations,'' she added.
