Translated from Kannada Daily, Vijaya Karnataka. Bengaluru: Here is one another sample of Khatarnak Investigation of Bangalore City Police... The 1st ACMM Magistrate Court on last Friday in relation to a criminal complaint issued Bailable Warrant for the witnesses related to the case. But the irony is.. the witness is not alive and for the fiasco done by the Police of Yeswanthpur Police Station in 2006, the court is burdened with issuing warrant to a dead person. Its common practice that the Police will scout for witnesses during investigation of criminal cases. And if they do not find any credible witnesses, they wash off their responsibilities by creating statements of non existent people. During the course of the trial the Police show their saddened faces of unable to trace the witness thus the court makes the witness hostile OR untraceable and the Investigating Police tender apologies in the witness box to cover up the matter. But, due to the irresponsible actions of Former Yeswanthpur Police Inspector A.Manjunath who currently is working at city Special branch the court is facing a situation of serving warrant to a dead person pursuing him either at heaven or hell wherever he is now. The Inspector made an innocent engineer as an accused by creating statements of dead and non existing persons and submitted chargesheet to the court. Since the trial has now commenced, the court is burdened with the task of searching these fabricated witnesses. By the way, the mechanical engineer Ravi who suffered immensely at the hands of the Police utilized RTI Act and investigated the matter himself uncovering the blatant lies and exposing the corrupt acts of the Police in the name of investigation. The matter is now with Lokayukta and if everything goes correct, Yeswanthpur division would receive a bunch of suspension documents. To top it all, the City Commissioner of Police has already issued ultimatum to the cops erring in serving court warrants and has issued multiple suspension on those who are inefficient in serving warrants. Details of the Case: Ravikumar(Name Changed), resident of Mathikere and working in an MNC earning handsomely had idealogies not suitable for this age, which was to marry a girl from poor family. Thereby his family got him married to one Nagamani (Name changed) of hindupur. Forget Dowry, he and his family borne all the expenses of the wedding and did not give the bride's side any trouble for the wedding expenses. Unfortunately, Nagamani had premarital affair and had Sexually Transmitted Disease prior to wedding, which got transmitted to Ravi after the wedding. His ideologies and utopian ways had backfired and Nagamani filed Dowry Harassment complaint at Yeswanthpur Police Station. Her advocate was a good friend of A.Manjunath. Thereby, all of them colluded to extract Rs 10 Lakhs in cash at the Police Station. Ravi says to "Vijaya Karnataka" that he was illegally detained. On 21st Aug 2006, I was called to Police Station and was stripped half naked and pushed to Lockup. To the Panchanama, the police creted in the names of fabricated witness names of Kumara and Krishna. Another witness Ashwatha Narayana died on 29th July 2006, however the police Inspector A.Manjunath recorded his statements on 30th July 2006. In truth, the hospital records by the doctors show that Aswatha Narayana was severly ill and was in coma since 28th July 2006, not responding to oral or painful stimuli. Another interesting aspect is that on 30th July 2006, the Inspector recorded statements of 5 witnesses, however the Police Inspector himself was on Leave on 30th july and 31st July after seeking permission from DGP. How on the earth is this possible ? Questions Ravikumar along with all the documents uncovered through RTI. Now to this dead person Aswatha Narayana, the court has issued Bailable Warrant. Inspector Manjunath is now transferred to CCB but the remnants of his unholy actions is haunting the Yeswanthpur Police who have to search for the witnesses for issuing warrants.. Isn't this one amazing investigation of Bangalore Police? |
