Bangalore, Jan 24 (PTI) The government will be working towards making the laws gender neutral in the next four years, Union Minister of Law and Justice M Veerappa Moily said today.

He also said after legislating the Right to Education Act the government will soon come up with a Food Security Act.

"We have already passed the Right to Education Act and Food Security Act is coming shortly," Moily said while inaugurating a three-day 'Civil Society Summit: The state of the Indian Republic @ 60', here.

Observing that a number of laws were gender-biased, he said "they (laws) should become gender neutral and I assure you in the next four years this will be done."

The minister asked NGOs to act as an interface between the society and the government so that benefits of post-independence progress must reach everyone.

we dont appreceate , y so it will take 4 years , i am working in PSU, and we r been directed to be
target oriented by goverment , is it so india want to loose direct economy , what we r working for
goverment organisation, due to wife i never comperamise with work of my nation, but sill i have to
suffer 498a and crpc 125, it is better to be criminal and work in central jail, beside working as
    engineer in PSU
  • m  - Ban Marriages
I believe that time has changed people be it males or females today we cannot run with century old
tradition of marriages.I ask one question why marriages it is a system.today when there are lot of
fertility clinic there is no need of marriages.males can have their child without a women or without
a wife. The religion type system should be changed.women can have child in fertility clinic.we do
marriages because it is in tradition our ancestors are doing thats why we do i do not think today
marriages are necessary.of course when a person gets old it is the responsibility of government to
take care of old people why son shld take care of father,or father shld take care of son or
daughter.everybody should enjoy his life the caretaking is part of government. This could be the new
system.Marriage should be ban completely. Both married males and females should understand that time
has changed.i believe that govt should become mother and father of each citizen.and let every
    citizen enjoy his life.

it is not clear what laws Mr.Veerappan moily meant.SIFF should submit a letter to him as soon as
possible asking him to pay attention to "THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACT' and 'SEC 125 OF CRPC' and
    make them gender neutral.

what should i do to volunteer in SIFF?

Why 4 years, Mr. Moily? Why not tomorrow? After all, all you need to do is handpick all anti-male
laws and replace the word, "Man" and "Woman" with "Person" and the word,
"Husband" and "Wife" with "Spouse" and have the new Amendment pa**ed in the
    Houses of Parliament.

Taking into account the administrative delays and cumbersome provisions, it should not take more
than 6 months, or are you hinting to me that my analysis of the extent to which the system is rotten
is 1/8th of the actuals and that's why a 1/2 a year job is going to take 4 years?

But after 4 years, your tenure will be over, then whom should we hold responsible for the failure in
case the laws do not become gender neutral?
