" All married couples should learn the art of battle as they should learn the art of making love. Good battle is objective and honest--never vicious or cruel. Good battle is healthy and constructive, and brings to a marriage the principle of equal partnership. "

Govt of India, rubs salt on wounds of a mother, who gave her son to countries defense. It is not easy for any mother to send her son to War. The mothers who send their young sons to war live under great pain during a war. What does Govt of India to for the mothers, who made ultimate sacrifices for the Nation? The Govt of India just insults them.

Imagine, what happens in the hearts of mothers of our soliders or commandos, who risk their lives to bring safety and security to us all. The Government and defense minister should have some shame when they indulge in such inhuman behaviour against a martyr's mother.

Malati Lata (78), the mother of Sachitananda, had dreams of building a statue of her brave son at a cost of Rs 2 lakh. But her hopes have dashed as she hasn't received any money from the Rs 22 lakh ex-gratia that the government and other public and private organizations granted to her daughter-in-law, Nibedita.

Malati Lata received the news of martyrdom of her younger son, Naik Sachitananda Mallick of Mahar regiment, on June 30 at Drass during Operation Vijay. Sachitananda was hit on the forehead by shell splinters fired by Pakistani intruders and was killed.

He was cremated with full military honours and his funeral was attended by the entire village, as well as government officials. But, soon Sachitananda's old parents got another shock when authorities refused to pay them any portion of the ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh, all of which went to the martyr's widow.
