A misdirected movement called “Feminism”

Share this at:

What started as a movement seeking equal rights for women, Feminism has now become an organized tool to harass men, spread misandry, draw undue favors from the Govt. and fulfill unreasonable demands in the name of women equality. The term has become synonymous to ‘dictatorship’ whereby feminists are enforcing hypocrisy and promoting self-dictated definitions of right & wrong. They are using various channels like media, newspapers, social networking sites etc to create social hue & cry for their unjustified wants without realizing that their propaganda just provides an unfair advantage to one chosen section of the society and jeopardizes well-being of the other

Women empowerment is the key agenda publicized by feminists. This so called empowerment is being construed as the freedom to take up drinking, smoking, use of abusive language, swearing, having multiple relationships etc. so women could consider themselves equal to men. What feminists fail to realize is that all these unhealthy practices have a negative impact on anyone & everyone irrespective of the gender, however women are gleefully embracing them because of the hype created in the name of empowerment. The crude thought planted in women’s mind is that ‘If a man can why can’t a woman’? While this attitude is always welcomed when it comes to doing something constructive or new but the same could be an extremely dangerous proposition if used to embrace social evils

Feminists may challenge this saying why is the onus only on women to improve & not on men – well they need to realize that Indian men have matured over a period of time and their behavior has changed for good. They are now equally committed to family life & upbringing of children, started contributing in household chores, increasingly accepting women as able competitors at work and withdrawing themselves from the social bad. On the other hand, feminism has completely deteriorated women behavior and they are picking up all the evils that men are moving away from. Educated women are the worst victims of this misdirected wave of feminism and any effort to remind them of their responsibilities is strongly criticized especially if it’s coming from a man. It’s viewed as an attempt to curb their freedom and does not go well with their bloated egos

With all the hype created in the name of feminism, the feminists have been able to enact their unjust one-sided demands through various laws which are increasingly being misused to harass men. For example, estranged wives are claiming maintenance even when they have willfully deserted their husband or capable enough to earn and courts are freely obliging. Question arises why a woman needs to be maintained by a man when both are equal? There is news that feminist groups are pressing for a law that entitles a wife 50% share in husband’s earned and inheritable property. If passed this law will provide women a legal short cut to make fortunes overnight by marrying a rich man on one day & part ways with half of his assets on the next. Backed by such preposterous laws women have started making mockery of the sacred institution of marriage and merely exploiting it to make quick money

Feminists need to understand that their hypocritical attitude and demands for anti-male laws are just spoiling women rather than empowering them. To empower someone you need to give them responsibility rather than providing unfair means to fulfill their demands. While working towards betterment of women, the feminists should also ensure that women don’t misuse the privileges endowed to them to wreak havoc on men. False cases of dowry, rape and domestic violence should stop and emphasis should be laid on addressing the real issues. Feminism has a very strong influence and hence should be used judiciously rather than to prove supremacy over men who struggle through their entire life to meet the expectation of being a ‘provider’.
