Sabotage always causes great harm to Men’s Movement

This is probably the most important topic in Men’s Movement in India. Yet, most people in men’s movement may not take this topic seriously.

In 2005, the Yahoogroup SaveIndianFamily and this website www.saveindianfamily.org were created. It had a lot of volunteers. However members started arguing and fighting with one another.

While individual egos, short temper and reactive behavior played a big role for this infighting, the negativity inherent in male victims worsened it. Next couple of years, it became a challenge to keep the activists united and maintain focus on activism to change laws.

Team work is a challenge. Individual activism is relatively easy. Yet, it is only big teams of activists who can achieve results, which no individual can ever achieve.

For strong teams to work in harmony, members who are not team players or members who are disruptive should be kept away from the team. There is no room for any aggression, insults and abusive behavior inside a team.

Team work is of highest priority than attempting to create a big crowd with trouble makers inside.

So, who are the trouble makers one should watch out for:

1) Toxic people: These can be both men and women. They are abusive, provocative and harmful.

2) The other kind of trouble makers are the ones who stand with the toxic people. They are irresponsible and unprincipled kind. They may have received or they may hope for some favors from the toxic people.

3) Since 2005 from time to time, some members turned into opportunists. Instead of working for unity and team work, they focused more on starting their businesses or law firms using the members and resources of SIFF. Some of them looted the male victims by indulging in fraudulent activities.

4) There are also members who secretly work for some lawyers for a commission.

To keep a movement strong, all members must be prepared for all these internal challenges. Such preparedness will help overcome these challenges of internal sabotage than being unprepared and innocent.
